11 Feb Vail Vitrectomy 2025
On February 11, 2025, Vail Vitrectomy held its invitation-only triennial meeting. The meeting is reputed to be the most prestigious and selective assembly of the world’s elite vitreo-retinal surgeons.
Dr. Sebag’s lecture shared with the world our decade-long experience in curing vision degrading myodesopsia from vitreous floaters with a modified and improved version of vitrectomy. The procedures is currently called “limited refractive vitrectomy” (LRV) because in addition to getting rid of the symptoms of floaters, the procedure improves contrast sensitivity, which is the ability to discern shades of gray. The lecture described the VMR experience in performing LRV in nearly 300 patients. The results were extremely successful with a high degree of patient happiness, improved contrast sensitivity, and a very low incidence of complications.
