Tokyo, March 29, 2025
The 4th annual meeting of FujiRetina was held in Toranomon Hills, Tokyo from March 28-30, 2025 where two special lectures were featured. One designated as “Invited Lecture”, was delivered by Dr. Sebag, entitled “Vitreous and Vision Degrading Myodesopsia from Vitreous Floaters”.
In that presentation, Dr. Sebag shared our experience in evaluating 728 patients with vision degrading myodesopsia from vitreous floaters with special testing developed at the VMR Institute in Huntington Beach. Of these, 326 patients eected to undergo limited refractive vitrectomy, and their improvement over the course of a 10-year follow-up period was described in the lecture.
The detailed results of all patients in this study are presented in a publication just issued by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (Clinical Management of Vision Degrading Myodesopsia from Vitreous Floaters – Observation vs. Limited Refractive Vitrectomy – ScienceDirect).
In Tokyo and abroad, the FujiRetina lecture was well-received by the audience of 1200 doctors (in-person and online). The lecture was followed by the award of a certificate, offered by Professor Taiji Sakamoto of Kagoshima, President of the Japanese Retina Vitreous Society.”
